BIO
I've been dabbling in photography for about five years now. I started learning photography whilst living in the French Alps as I was constantly disappointed with the images I was getting when out skiing, ski-touring and climbing. It quickly morphed into an interest in photography for it's own sake and these days I love getting out and photographing the best landscapes the UK has to offer, mainly the Peak District.
The UK has a stunning variety of landscapes from Dartmoor to Snowdonia to The Peak District and The Lake District and Scotland. All enhanced by the addition of our frequently moody weather! There can be few small countries anywhere in the world that offer such diversity and much of it readily accessible from large cities.
My interest in photography was sparked by a love of the hills and mountains and I split my time between Chamonix in France and Manchester. If I'm not taking photos in the hills then I'm out as much as possible - skiing off-piste, ski touring, fell-running, walking and scrambling! For the day job I work offshore on drilling rigs (as infrequently as possible these days!) and combine that with a career in the Army Reserves.
