May was my best month here so far by a long way. I did upload a lot of photos and had more accepted than any other month. |

Well, it's typical isn't it - no sooner than I start moaning about falling sales etc etc, than suddenly my sales take off like a rocket ship.......
Serves me right for opening my mouth (I usually keep it firmly shut - it's the best way to avoid danger).
Don't know what happened, but suddenly sales went up and I achieved my BWE since I joined Dreamstime.
Clearly my assumptions about the new search facility were not correct.
Apologies to all, and thanks to Achilles for his patience. |

I apologize if I've bothered somebody starting another "low downloads thread", and I'm glad for all of you that have been doing great this month. my portfolio exposure dropped from 4,23 to 3,7 % ( I don't even know what that number means, but in last months was increasing)...and I feel the same way as Marcel said. :(

So while i was learning and progressing there was still a little reward, thats gone now.
I think that is the extend of my "whining" and most other complaints of low dl's

Don't worry with that number. It means your portefolio is big at 3,72% of the biggest one 100% (Iofoto). Just go to see in stats and communauty you will see the top contributor.... |

Since I've started this thing, I feel I should end it, too.
After 18 days with 1 download, from monday things went back to normal, and I have downloads every day. I hope this will persist.

Some believe that a decrease in downloads is a could be seasonal. Designers are on vacation. This is a very good time to build your portfolio and prepare for all the holidays in the fall & winter.

While this may have to do with keywording and searches, it may also have to do with the fact that the US economy has slowed down tremendously across many sectors. A year ago, real GDP (Gross Domestic Product) was growing at 5.6 percent. During the first quarter of 2007, that growth fell to 1.3 percent. While this is an international site, the US economy is enormous. |

Earlier in this thread (end of may) I made a statement about sales slowing down (for two month). Amazingly, in june sales picked up, today I nearly reached my total revenue numbers of may - and there are still 11 days left in june.
Obviously it is the "normal fluctuation of a small portfolio" that I was reading about in the threads - and I will learn to get used to it.

Sales always vary month to month, and they vary a lot one day/week to another, so I typically don't participate in the discussions about 'how the sales are going'. However June is just terrible to me - I could understand the decline, but 7 times?
There was a decline in June last year but it wasn't so dramatic as it is now...
.....Perhaps I need to change my userpic to a smiley one..... |
