The first HDTV image of an "Earth-Rise" has been brought to the world by Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation). The image has been taken by the japanese Kaguya lunar explorer orbiting the Moon at about 100km off surface. More here.

Canon is set to introduce two new "super telephoto" lenses at the PhotoPlus expo in New York this week - a 200mm f/2 (to replace the popular 200mm f/1.8 that hasn't been produced since 2004) and a new 800mm f/5.6 which is supposed to produce better quality images than the 600mm f/4.
